We have come every year in December from Hamilton to Simcoe to see the Christmas lights. We stop at the Barrel Restaurant first, and it is a highlight of our trip: excellent food, excellent atmosphere. There is a very large menu, so I know people can order what they want and sometimes get something different from what they want. Suffice to say that I find the Penne Capri on par with meals served in Italy, and my husband and in-laws refuse to order anything other than the lasagna because they enjoy it so much every time. My Family, friends and I have been going to the Egg and I for years and although I never thought of writing a review, I have to this time. We were greeted immediately and only waited a few minutes for a table to clear, it was packed! We celebrated my birthday last Sunday and I was craving their Herb Feta Omelette, with a side of Cherry Pink Bacon, which in my opinion is the BEST brand to buy, and cooked to my perfection. Our drinks came out fast, coffee was fresh and always available but what I appreciated most was all our food came out at the same time. Everyone enjoyed their order and we all devoured the Banana Walnut Pancakes. I've been to fine dining and can't stand when my portion is the size of my palm and our food is not served at the same time. The Egg and I is a wonderful, fun Family Breakfast restaurant in Hamilton. We had an excellent experience at Bob's Place. The Portions really were HUGE. We all went home stuffed, with leftovers. The food was Delicious! I attended Montana's Cookhouse with my Brother and Girlfriend last week and expected good quality food and service. I expected it because Montanas Cookhouse i widely recognized and I have also attended it before and loved it. I suggest coming here for a dinner or lunch because you receive great food for a low cost. I ordered chicken penne which was 15$ and a coke for 3$, so for under 20$ I received an excellent meal and fast service. The environment is loud and upbeat giving you a fun experience. Read more
