I have been to Kawa several times since moving to the area and have also ordered takeout from kawa and it has been nothing but delicious. My first visit was pleasant enough. We were greeted right away and accomodated for our party of 5. At first I was not really impressed with only the 'make your own stirfry' option for dinner but was told it was excellent. Tons of selection of meats, veggies and sauces...wasn't sure where to start! Guys at the fryer seemed to really enjoy their jobs, it was very entertaining to watch. Food was really yummy. Atmosphere was alright, didn't really notice any defectives like others are posting. Waitress was somewhat reliable in refilling our drinks. When it comes to tipping, the guys at the fryer really earn theirs however not sure about the waitresses as all they did was bring us water....nothing from the menu was ordered. The only downside to this place is the price (15.99 per person Mon-Thurs is the deal we did) but I guess for others it's an awesome price for the food. Read more

Most food is locally sourced and the beer has a local theme too. Sonita tries to get beer from within 100 miles of the pub, and a lot of the food is sourced from the same area. The menu is upscale pub food with a seasonal twist. Spring Leek Salad, Local Lamb, Crab Apple Salad, fondue with cheese made with local beer, etc.I usually get the fondue as the portion is huge and it is about $10.00, or I get wings in the evening when they are half price. FIre and ice are great!The place has a large patio which is usually fairly busy. Inside, it is typical pub decor with a homey feel to it. Pub quiz night is a solid night to go on to get to know the owners and regulars. I find it better to go to the bar to order your drinks, as table service can be a bit lacking. Taps total 20, including Railway City, Stratford, Creemore,Black Oak, Great Lakes, Steamwhistle, and the bottle selection is limited but has included many micros. I took my husband out for dinner last night, to celebrate his birthday. It was our first visit to David's and we were both impressed. First, I want to commend the great service we received. We were looked after in a timely, and polite manor. Our server was helpful and knowledgeable about the menu and wines. We only ordered entrees, as we aren't big eaters and find restaurant portions fill us quickly. He ordered the chicken and wow -- the bacon sauce was fantastic. I kept trying to steal it of his plate. I ordered the filet mignon, and it was cooked to perfection. My gnocchi was light and tasty. But I will say that my sauce was a little bland in comparison to the bacon sauce. Not that there was anything wrong with my balsalmic/tarragon jus/with onions, it was good, but the bacon sauce would beat just about anything hands down. My only constructive criticism would be that the pink/red walls are a little jarring and the awning out front could use a wash (covered in bird droppings). So yeah - not much to complain about. We'd definitely go again, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend others try it out. Read more

We were in the mood for something different, a place with a patio and music but not a place where you weren't able to move or order anything without waiting in line. We made a good choice in going to Fitzrays. We all tried something different and everyone was happy with their food (apparently the veggie burger is outstanding, i am a meatalohic though so i'll take her word for that one). The staff was very attentive and got everything right, and made sure we always had a full beverage. There was some guy playing guitar - Graham something - who was very good and not too loud. My husband and I dined at La Casa on Saturday night. We started with Mussels for appetizer - delicious...I wanted to drink the sauce it was so good. We also shared a Ceasar Salad. The dressing was very nice, perhaps a bit too much garlic (a little too overwhelming). Still tasty though. I ordered lobster pasta, all I can say is DELICIOUS! So tasty. I brought some home and was looking forward to eating it again the next day for lunch. My husband ordered beef tenderloin. Again, delicious! Tender, perfectly cooked and tasty. The waiter was very professional and friendly. We had a great time and a fantastic meal. No wonder La Casa is still one of the best restaurant's in London. It's so nice to go out for dinner and receive a great meal. The meals are not pretentious or overpriced (unlike other London restaurants in the downtown area). The food is simply delicious.
