I took my husband out for dinner last night, to celebrate his birthday. It was our first visit to David's and we were both impressed.
First, I want to commend the great service we received. We were looked after in a timely, and polite manor. Our server was helpful and knowledgeable about the menu and wines.
We only ordered entrees, as we aren't big eaters and find restaurant portions fill us quickly. He ordered the chicken and wow -- the bacon sauce was fantastic. I kept trying to steal it of his plate. I ordered the filet mignon, and it was cooked to perfection. My gnocchi was light and tasty. But I will say that my sauce was a little bland in comparison to the bacon sauce. Not that there was anything wrong with my balsalmic/tarragon jus/with onions, it was good, but the bacon sauce would beat just about anything hands down.
My only constructive criticism would be that the pink/red walls are a little jarring and the awning out front could use a wash (covered in bird droppings).
So yeah - not much to complain about.
We'd definitely go again, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend others try it out.

THIS WAS OUR FIRST VISIT BUT WE HEARD SO MANY GOOD THINGS WE HAD OUR HOPES HIGH. THE STAFF WAS SUPER FRIENDLY AND VERY ATTENTIVE. THE FRESH ROLLS WERE SUPER FRESH -- CRISP AND SERVED WITH 3 DIPPING SAUCES (AS A TREAT!) THE MANGO SALADS WAS FULL OF FLAVOUR BUT SMALL. THE SWEET AND SOUR STIRFRY WAS PERFECT BUT ONLY 6 SHRIMP?! THE YELLOW CURRY WAS A BEAUTIFUL BLEND OF FLAVOURS AND THE JASMINE RICE -- TO DIE FOR! THE SERVINGS WERE ALL SMALL IN COMPARISON TO NORMAL RESTAURANT FEASTS BUT VERY WELL PRESENTED AND COOKED TO ORDER! DESSERTS WERE YUMMY -- COCONUT ICE CREAM AND FRIED ICE CREAM WERE A DELIGHT. After years of eating at Under the Volcano we had another great meal once again. The margaritas are always good,as well as the chips and salsa before the meal. I tend to stick with the spicy foods whereas my wife prefers it relatively mild. My wife had the beef burrito and I the blackened chicken chimichanga (made extra hot). The desserts are fantastic but my favorite has to be the deep fried ice cream. The new location is still being settled into it seems but I'm looking forward to seeing it all finished.

Confession: I don't come here for the food. I come because I live close by and I like the environment, especially when I'm eating alone. It's just a fun place to spend an hour, and I'm sure that's why it's always busy and obviously a successful business.
I've been twice recently, and both times I ordered the sirloin steak. I'd normally stick to burgers and wings at this type of place, but the waitress was very convincing that steak was their specialty. The first time she was right!
The first steak I had was every bit as good as what you'd get at, say the Keg on a good nite. I was quite impressed!
So I went back two weeks later and ordered the same steak dinner. This time I was disappointed. Although it was cooked perfectly (to the medium rare spec I ordered), the beef wasn't of high quality. Instead it was tough and full of grizzle. Not a great experience and certainly not acceptable for a $25 entree.
I'll no doubt go back to Jack Astors but I'm going to stick to pub fare. That's obviously what they're good at.

Went here with friends. They been here before My wife and I had not. Our server ask if we been before and then helped us on some questions we had about the menu. Dave was very helpful with our decisions. He did not rush us and was very patient. Our english is not great but he was able to understand and help us with deciding. The wrap and roll platter was a great taste of different items and coconut shrimp was very good. We order many different dishes to try and share. Dave mentioned they were big portions and he was right. We had lots of leftovers for next day. The decor was very nice and relaxing. not very busy though. Look forward to coming back and enjoying another nice evening wih great food and service.

I don't deviate much from my standard lemongrass chicken + pork dish since I love it so much, even if it is pretty straight forward. I could live off the crispy wontons ommm nom. We had the best dining experience at lunch today. We spent the last two days in the hospital so we were in need of a good lunch. Stacey was phenomenal!!! It was pretty busy but she looked after us like were only patrons. She was very efficient and friendly. You can tell she enjoys her job as I watched smiling and laughing with everyone she was waiting on. She suggested the new cauliflower wings and they were to die for. We will definitely be coming back next week.

My husband and I dined at La Casa on Saturday night. We started with Mussels for appetizer - delicious...I wanted to drink the sauce it was so good. We also shared a Ceasar Salad. The dressing was very nice, perhaps a bit too much garlic (a little too overwhelming). Still tasty though.
I ordered lobster pasta, all I can say is DELICIOUS! So tasty. I brought some home and was looking forward to eating it again the next day for lunch. My husband ordered beef tenderloin. Again, delicious! Tender, perfectly cooked and tasty. The waiter was very professional and friendly. We had a great time and a fantastic meal. No wonder La Casa is still one of the best restaurant's in London. It's so nice to go out for dinner and receive a great meal. The meals are not pretentious or overpriced (unlike other London restaurants in the downtown area). The food is simply delicious. Thank you for a great night out!
