Fantastic food, great service. Our waitress was perfect. We took a while to decide, and she gave us space and more than enough time, yet she was right there when we were ready. We also got lots of extra appetizers. This place seems oddly out of place in its location in the Main-Danforth area, and should instead be located in a more trendy area that would appreciate its loveliness. It is a family run establishment but it is a wonderful place for brunch, or dinner. The food is very well priced and the flavours are amazing. Bravo!

We have been eating here forever and a day. Sometimes their service (especially when busy) is a little slow, but the food has always been great!
Now we do NOT go to eat sushi for artistic presentation, but for the overall freshness of the fish, and the rice. While their presentation of their food is very good, it won't compare to some high end sushi restaurants which have superb presentations. The quality of their food has always been on par with the highest end sushi restaurants I have eaten in.
I like the fact that prices are about 40% less then higher end sushi restaurants, while the quality of the food itself is on par!
if you are in the area, it is definitely worth a try!

I went the other day with a couple of friends and I have to say it was a nice cozy place to spend the day with a couple of friends. The sushi was tasty, the service was great. They were so polite and friendly.
To the person below, this is Canada. Not Japan or anywhere else in Asia, where their specialties are Asian food. Also didn't help the fact you had high expectations going in which could have affected your overall impression. "Worst sushi" is not something I would use for this restaurant.
I definitely recommend it for a night out with your friends and family or even just a lunch with a friend.

I've probably been here 3 or 4 times now. I keep coming back because the service is so good! Not to mention the food is fantastic (the complimentary crunchy soup is to die for). The last time I went, my table got the spider roll, seaweed salad, green dragon roll, spicy salmon roll, and some other roll (I can't remember the name). They were delicious! All was served in a sequential manner; we were served complimentary soup immediately as we sat down, then we ordered, after which we were served complimentary green salad while we waited for our rolls. We were never without food! With all that's included with the rolls, the value is really great.
Although it's not too impressive from the outside, the inside is pretty good. It's not fancy, but very laid back. I took my grandmother here for her first sushi experience, and she loved it. I had such good service today, that I had to give these guys some publicity! They deserve it. I'll definitely be back!

While Zen is our favourite Japanese Restaurant, my boyfriend and I have enjoyed dining here for their enoki maki (thin slices of beef wrapped around enoki-Japanese mushrooms). Their nigiri and sashimi while delicious is not a priority for us to order as they serve very thin small pieces for the price you pay.
We have also had their sukiyaki (we cook ourselves on the table) and it is large enough for 3 people, although much more expensive ($60 for 2 people which includes rice and raw egg for dipping) than other restaurants where we have enjoyed the same. The sukiyaki comes traditionally (as they served), with slices of thin sukiyaki beef, tofu, Chinese cabbage, green onion, oyster mushrooms, shitake mushrooms and regular mushrooms, transparent thin noodles and onion. Their broth was excellent-not too sweet. A great meal to have on a cold day.

We had noticed this restaurant as we were walking downtown and decided to give it a try, best decision ever! When you walk in, the decor is amazing, they have a life-size figurine of a geisha and many ornamental items in the foyer. The waitress was pleasant and kind, attending to all of our needs. I got the sushi bento box meal and it only cost $7.99, it filled me up! The rice and sushi were incredible, and the fried vegetables were tasty. I was impressed with the wonderful service and amazing atmosphere. I would definitely return again!!

My spouse and I are here 2 to 3 times a week. That's how much we love Sapporo. We always order the same thing (salmon bento). Salmon Sashimi is always fresh, the spicy handrolls are spicy and very good. The eel sushi is excellent. Do not expect fast service especially during dinner time, or Friday/Saturday. The place is small and there is always a lineup. But the food is worth the wait. We would visit over and over again. Too bad they're closed on Mondays. :(

I often go here for lunch since I work nearby.
The Japanese chef is very friendly and welcoming. I've had an incredibly pleasant experience every time just being in this quiet and calm restaurant (although every once in a while it's absolutely full with a lunch crowd!)
I like the sushi, salmon nigiri in particular, and their uni is very very good. They don't carry toro at all, by choice. Squid, scallop, hamachi, all great. Rolls are very lovely presented.
Everyone I've ever taken with me to this place has enjoyed it, whether they were sushi-addicted like me or just into it once in a while.
I'm definetly going back.

This review is way past due; I've been coming here frequently for over 5 years now for no reason other than it is FANTASTIC. The master chef and his wife are such lovely people who's efforts and dedication to the restaurant really have a great influence on the atmosphere. Did I mention that the food is amazing? The rolls are made fresh and just simply really well. I love the design of the seating area and how the booths are separated it really gives a cozy feel to the place. It's really excellent value for the quality of food that you're getting.
