Although this establishment now serves Chinese food, to me it is not the crowning jewel of this eatery. It has truly stood the test of time. As a young boy, mom and dad would slip me a few bucks, I'd get on my bike and pedal up there, back when the original owner was working his own place, breading and seasoning by hand (hint: this was in the late 70's). This was THE weekly treat for me to take this delicious, crispy, one of a kind taste home in the basket of my bike and delve into a taste sensation. The "Colonel" got punk'd everytime, hands down. You do not go here to sit in, you don't go here to take in the "ambiance"... It was never, ever the way this place was supposed to be. This is a place you order, pick up and just go home to enjoy those juices that will grace your chin. you sit at home and enjoy it at home, because you know you'd feel just a *twinge* of guilt knowing that someone else nearby was not enjoying this delectable treat. I use this store and the one in Langford as my go-to home repair and maintenance store. I actually dont always know exactly what Im looking for but most of the staff can figure out what would be helpful in my situation. Its not a drive through, get in get out in ten minutes - kinda store, but I dont know a hardware store that is. I refuse to use the automated checkouts though. Maybe thats why less staff. I am providing a review for this wonderful deck building company, Steven and his crew were able to remove our existing wooden deck, and install a new vinyl deck. They were exremely careful with my plants, and completed our new deck on time and budget. The way they helped design and build our deck, was superb, it is truely built for our west coast climate. we now have a dryspace below our sundeck. My husband and I are happy to have chosen maintenance free decking, and powder coated railings. We have the nicest sundeck, and aluminum railings on our street, and dont think about having to paint or stain it any more.
