Maria's is a Kitsilano institution. The atmosphere is everything you would expect a Greek restaurant to offer complete with pictures of Greek scenery adorning the walls. The food is really good and even my wife who is not the biggest fan of Greek food loves the food at Maria's. I usually have what I had on our most recent visit...one of the souvlaki dinners. Our most recent trip I had chicken souvlaki and the chicken was perfectly tender and the potatoes and rice were great too. Next time you have a hankering for Greek food visit Maria's Taverna on 4th! WOW! I had heard that this restaurant has been in buisness for about 30 years, so i took my family and we finally visited the well-known family owned restaurant. The service was great, the atmosphere warm and welcoming and the food- AMAZING! It would literally melt in your mouth with every bite.
