Even though I don't live in the neighbourhood, I go there because it is the best restaurant. The renovation they had this summer was very good. It affected the restaurant by a lot. This restaurant has excellent sushi. The fish is so fresh and very high quality. The ratio of fish to rice is perfect. I've been eating there since it opened and their quality and great service have been consistent since day 1. Our "go to" meal for two is the medium Sushi Moriawase which is a 30 piece assortment of sushi and maki, a small salad and miso soup. I find the value for the money very good at $30 for two (+ tax and tip). I'm thankful they opened so close to home so I can get a good sushi fix whenever I need one! Read more

I had been to JJ Japanese Thai beforehand and was never disappointed. This was my third visit and I was more than pleased. The restaurant was nicely decorated with beautiful table linens, wall decorations, and pillows. The servers were kind and attentive. Our server, whose name was Alina, was so kind and friendly, she asked us if there was anything we needed on a consistent basis and also provided free ice cream for being such great customers! I had my reservations about dining here as it's been at least 2 years since I've been to this Momiji location. However, my usual sushi places were closed on Labour Day, they had Lunch Specials goin' on, so why not? I ordered Sushi Bento (4 nigiri, 6 spicy salmon, 4 tempura) which was $10.50. My bf had Sushi Combo (6 cali, 7 nigiri), $11.50. And we added the Alaska Roll - $7.95 - we didn't think that we'd have enough food. Both Lunch Specials were AMAZING value, including miso soup + salad. So we didn't need the Alaska Roll. Fish was pretty fresh, no pieces fell apart, detailed presentation, good service - having our tea refilled without asking! I have never been here for Dinner, but Lunch Specials are until 3:30pm and GREAT VALUE. So if you're in the Clarkson area, check this place out! Read more

Ok so Sauga is full of great places, and Axia is one of those great places we always meet friends at when we're in the region. The sushi here is quality and consistent. You can tell right away that they use a higher grade of fish than some of the local AYCE (all-you-can-eat) places. The Dragon rolls and spicy rolls are pretty much different than any other place I've been to which keeps me coming back. The wifey doesn't like sushi, so she likes to stick with the Chinese and Thai food which she absolutely loves. The look and feel is nice, sort of like an outdoorsy theme. Service was friendly and fast and the bill is reasonable for a place like this. Anyways, give Axia a try, it's one of those places that'll keep you coming back for more. Read more

Fantastic food, great service. Our waitress was perfect. We took a while to decide, and she gave us space and more than enough time, yet she was right there when we were ready. DonDon Izakaya is Toronto's own little taste of Japan. I once visited Tokyo on a business trip, and I remember going to this strange thing called an "izakaya" on several occasions. I remember my first time: I didn't understand why we couldn't just order our own dishes or why it had to be so loud! But by the end of the night, after several decanters of sake had been shared among our group, it all just seemed perfect. DonDon kinda feels this way too. The food may not be gourmet, but it's a ton of fun to eat! (I've heard that we shouldn't expect high-quality foods from izakayas since they are more like pubs anyway!) And the atmosphere is spot on. Oh, and don't even get me started on the drinks. I fell in love with sake in Japan and we've been reunited at DonDon. I've only been to DonDon once, but I'll definitely be going back again! Positive: The atmosphere is quite nice, dimly lit, tealights at tables. Service is also pleasant. I accidentally tipped over my tea and it was addressed immediately. Not-so-positive: I would say that sushi is *just* okay. When maki rolls arrived, from a distance, it just literally looked like a plate of white rice. Presentation was definitely their weak point. Pieces were not only cut unevenly, but they also fell apart as I picked them up with my chopsticks. Rolls were not rolled tight enough. Instead they were quite large and loose. We had noticed this restaurant as we were walking downtown and decided to give it a try, best decision ever! When you walk in, the decor is amazing, they have a life-size figurine of a geisha and many ornamental items in the foyer. The waitress was pleasant and kind, attending to all of our needs. I got the sushi bento box meal and it only cost $7.99, it filled me up! The rice and sushi were incredible, and the fried vegetables were tasty. I am Japanese and I like this restaurant! I have ordered Sushi only. I haven't tried other menus yet. Sushi is good quality and service is good. I pay around 10 dollars for sushi. (5 pieces of sushi and 8 pieces of maki rolls) It's very very affordable. If other people complain that it's not the best quality, this is not the place to go. You can't get the best quality for 10 bucks. Please go to restaurant owned by Japanese. However, if you're looking for affordable, decent quality sushi, I highly recommend Bento Box. I've been to 4 other Japanese restaurants in Burlington but I only go to Bento Box now. Read more

I used to come here quite often when it was under different management. It was always good then and it is still good now. My fiance and I were looking for a good quick lunch, I had been here before so we decided to try it again. We were not dissapointed. The food was fresh, hot and cold where it should have been. Even the miso was tasty, some places make it too salty. The couple that runs the place were friendly and happy to help us. The tempura spicy crab roll was my favorite roll from the old menu, I couldn't find it on the new menu but when I asked they said they could make it for me no problem. The food was made right in front of us and it was ready quick, we barely had to wait more than 10 minutes. It is a small shop, room for only 4 or 5 people to sit down so it is food to take home if you have a big party of people, but you wont regret it. The shop is clean and the ingredients are fresh. The service is friendly and the menu is easy to read and easy to use. Read more

I've been to various Sushi places in the GTA area, and i would say this is the best place in terms of sushi quality. The fish is really fresh and it is sliced in a very nice way. The entire presentation makes it very pleasant experience. It is definitely more expensive than some of the other sushi places in Toronto.
