I really like this restaurant. It will have your order ready within 10 minutes. If I'm ever working from home or just don't have time to cook, this is very quick and feasible option. The other day, I placed an order for a slightly spicy meal and went home. I found the meal too spicy for my taste so I asked if I could get a milder version. They just asked me to bring the original meal back & they provided me a fresh meal according to my liking within 10 minutes. Now, that's good customer service. After discovering that Drupati's/Roti Roti was closed, I decided to visit Alima's while reading online reviews. Warning: This is a take-out only place. There are no tables/chairs to eat-in. When I walked in, no one was at the counter. Had to wait a coupla minutes for someone to come to the counter. This seemed normal as no one was bothered by it. Being that it was my first visit, I had some questions that the worker patiently answered, suggesting different options. She was very helpful. Expecting to sitdown, I ended up eating by my car, on the grass. That didn't bother me much. Food was nicely packaged, neat not spilling all over the place. Parantha roti wasn't hot, more chewy than flaky/soft. Curry itself was very flavourful and not too salty - as I find most places tend to be. If in the area and want to do a pick-up, I think Alima's is a good option. (Place seemed quite busy with a revolving door of people coming in to pick up their orders that they phoned in!) The service by the wait staff is excellent. The manager and the owner are both excellent people who are the right fit for this establishment. This is a neighbourhood 'pub' where the patrons and the staff are accomodating, friendly and there is a family feel to the pub. My spouse and I are regulars there now and have enjoyed many meals prepared by their cooks. The meals range from appetizers to their many entrees: toasted western sandwich to the sirloin steak done to perfection. Whatever they prepare is done very well. Only once have I had a complaint but there was a new cook on staff. Things are great now. Try this pub out for a meal and a couple of drinks, you will not be disappointed. Have a game of pool or darts while listening to your favourite music on the techically advanced "juke box". It's not the same anymore. "Come on in to a place where everybody knows your name." Cheers! We came here based on someone's recommendation. The location leaves much to be desired, but once you enter in, it's totally different. Soft lights and tables with white linen and wine glasses waiting to be filled. Small, but quaint and comfortable. We ordered the Gnocchi in Rose, Risotto with Shrimp, Fettuccine with Rabbit(special for the day) and Chicken Marsala, teamed with some red wine. My friend was disappointed the Gnocchi came in a rose as opposed to a cream base sauce, but that was something she realized she should've specified when ordering. The friend who got the Risotto couldn't stop raving. The shrimp in it were huge and plenty. I ordered the rabbit, my first time trying it. I enjoyed it, but would've enjoyed it more if there were more pieces of meat. We were thoroughly stuffed! We ended our meal off with tiramisu and cappuccinos. They were both excellent!
