In a small town, it is very hard to get authentic ethnic food. I typically have to go to Windsor to get an excellent pad thai. I ordered the spicy shrimp on the recommendation of a friend and it was amazing. My intention was to split the take out in half so I could enjoy it for my next day's lunch. Didn't happen! Was perfectly spiced, shrimp were large and peanuts made it perfect. Would highly recommend. Read more

My family and I go for breakfast here whenever we get the chance, be it Mother's Day or just a Sunday morning (or for my friends and I, the morning after shopping the Black Friday sales in the states!) The waitresses are all very friendly and attentive. The restrooms are very clean, and you can actually see the kitchen from some tables in the diner where you can see the chefs working hard and in a clean and efficient manner. When food is up, it's brought to you promptly; you won't be receiving any cold breakfasts here! The food is amazing, and you get great portion sizes for your money. The value is great here. I could rave about every breakfast item they have since I've basically tried them all. My favourite thing to order though is the breakfast for 2, for $14. Me and my boyfriend get this whenever we go, and you get SO MUCH FOOD. You get ham, bacon, sausages, toast, pancakes or french toast, eggs and home fries (HOLY crap). We can hardly finish it all, even my 200 pound bodybuilder boyfriend hahaha. I also like how when you order orange juice they bring it to you in a bottle and a cup on the side with ice. And the coffee is greaaat too! Best breakfast in Windsor, hands down! If I had to choose going out for dinner anywhere, or going for breakfast at Uptown - Uptown gets my vote! Just had dinner at the bistro and it was fantastic. The service was great and the waitress was very helpful and answered all the questions we had about the menu and drinks. She was very personable and made the evening very enjoyable. The food was fantastic. We had the crab and shrimp cakes and bruschetta for appetizers which were great. All four of our entrees were hot, flavourful and delicious. We had two pasta dishes, lamb chops and a chicken dish which were all delightful. We were able to substitute sides without a problem or fuss from the waitress. We also had two desserts which were also fantastic. I have been to the bistro now four times and very time I have had something different and it has always been great. No complaints about anything. Great evening and atmosphere with a fantastic meal. I lived in Toronto for 5 years prior to coming back home to Windsor. I was craving Korean food and decided to have a small birthday celebration with my family at Windsor Seoul. It was GREAT! I wasn't sure what to expect as I had never been to the restaurant prior to making reservations. The staff was incredibly kind and hospitable. The menu has a great selection of Korean food and Korean/Japanese fusion dishes. We started our meal with a selection of their hot teas which were divine. Instant love in a cup! We were then greeted with our side dishes followed shortly by our delectable meal. Delicious! Our side dishes and drinks were refilled as we enjoyed our food, each others company and the atmosphere. The K-pop (Korean music videos) playing on the HD TV added nicely to the cultural atmosphere. It has a very warm, welcoming feel to it (including a cute surprise if it's your birthday as well ;). I felt very much at home here (and I'm not Korean). If you are craving great Korean food at an affordable price and a relaxing, enjoyable, charming atmosphere for yourself, friends and family I strongly recommend Windsor Seoul! When University is in I avoid this place as its hard to find a seat. Weekends, evenings, and school breaks are good times to go if you want to hang out or get work done at the big tables (free wifi!). The food is great and large drink menu. Prices are very reasonable. Closed Sundays because it's in a church. Basement. Also closes when the university is on long breaks. Parking is another issue. Read more

We went here for 2 for 1 wings. Ordered all the different flavours they had, and they were ALL very good. It was busy and loud, servers were awesome and wait time wasn't too bad. We'll be going back to try some other items on the menu for sure. On a side note, while we were waiting outside a car came by and threw a couple of eggs at us. Usually go to the Downtown Windsor location. Happened upon the LaSalle Front rd location. Just as good here - piping hot halibut in a lite crispy batter - fresh cut fries. Can't beat Tuesdays only $7.99. My husband chose the healthier baked halibut with steamed veggies and a side of rice - a little pricier but he enjoyed too! We'll be back! Read more

Edit: This restaurant is under new ownerships and is quite different (new name). This is the best chinese food I have tried in the Windsor area. As a university student I have been to quite a few of the well regarded chinese restaurants downtown. Several of these restaurants have excellent dishes but overall they do not quite compare. Every dish I have tried at Emperor's Garden is outstanding whereas every other restaurant has had an item or two that let me down. My extended family often orders out from Emperor's Garden when relatives come in from out of town. On every occasion the relatives from out of town comment on how excellent the food is. They have, on multiple occasions, stated that if they lived near this restaurant they would go there too often. Prices are towards or below the lower end of $11-$25 per person. The restaurant is very clean and well maintained both externally and internally. I honestly believe it is the best restaurant in Tecumseh. Read more

I would definitely come again. Their pizza is delicious and so filling. I ate a whole one by myself at their two for one specials. My only complaint is the size of the place, which was really crowded because my friend and I had to squeeze around people and their tables. Not much moving room. That's all. But I'd definitely go back because their service is very friendly, accommodating and casual, much like the atmosphere. And their food is the best. Read more

I'll try to keep this short and sweet (like my wife ha) but we will definitely, 100% be returning to this place. We were in recently and the staff were so nice. We made a day of it and took it all to the lake and it was so nice to be able to enjoy such nice foods. I'd just butcher the pronounciations and whatnot, but suffice to say, you should order a lot of the extras that they have, in addition to the roti, which itself is amazing. The goat was soft and tender, but gamey too. If you're not a real meat-enthusiast, you may wanna steer clear of goat and get something more pallette friendly, like chiken or the chickpea roti. The doubles, oh the doubles! A double, from the best I can tell, is like this little chickpea-dough crepe, that is filled with refried beans and then the whole shebang is deep fried. Yeah, it's pretty much heaven. It comes with this hot sauce that really cuts to your core, so be careful. You'll sweat, but as us chiliheads admit, that's what you want. There's also pholourie, which is like a timbit, but made of a lightly-spiced chickpea dough, and it's a really nice, chewie snack that is just amazing. Well, as you can tell, I'm getting hungry writing this, so I should probably stop. Regardless of that, you should definitely check this place out. Butternut squash soup was tasty, grilled shrimp had a nice kick (from the chili oil), hand-made gnocchi was surprisingly light (a great appetizer that was a special of that night), grilled beets with spiced pecans and goat cheese was unusual yet delightful, lamb shanks (also a special that night) was tender but the sauce was quite overwhelming, and of course, the maple cheesecake was delicious (yet not too sweet). Overall, we felt the food, service, price, portions and ambiance was perfect. Duane (our server and the manager) is entertaining and knowledgeable with wine pairings. Ryan is a terrific chef and it's obvious that he puts much care when preparing the food. We look forward to dining at Mamo Bistro again soon. Read more
