Golden Griddle Family Restaurants

Its the Golden Griddle for crying out loud...how...

Its the Golden Griddle for crying out loud...how can you not know what to expect from the Golden Griddle if you live in or have visited frequently the area of Southern Ontario? :) Lets face it...its a place that specializes in breakfast type fare. Yes they do offer some other things, but the focus has been and most likely always will be breakfast 24 hours a day. A few things to keep in mind: 1) The food isn't outstanding, but its almost always of reasonable quality. 2) This isn't a steakhouse...so when you order the steak and eggs...don't be surprised when the steak is either overdone/underdone/or contains a fair amount of gristle. 3) It isn't cheap...but it isn't insanely priced either...the key here is timing...to get the most out of your money...go to the Griddle during one of their "All you can eat" buffets (I think they are primarily on the weekends as I recall)...then...go hungry and stock up on all the bacon, sausage, eggs, pancakes, etc...that you can. 4) If memory serves, their blintzes <SP>/crepes are pretty decent. Oh...and if you get them on a good day during the buffet...the waffles with whipped cream or strawberries aren't a bad way to finish off your brunch.
