Confession: I don't come here for the food. I come because I live close by and I like the environment, especially when I'm eating alone. It's just a fun place to spend an hour, and I'm sure that's why it's always busy and obviously a successful business.
I've been twice recently, and both times I ordered the sirloin steak. I'd normally stick to burgers and wings at this type of place, but the waitress was very convincing that steak was their specialty. The first time she was right!
The first steak I had was every bit as good as what you'd get at, say the Keg on a good nite. I was quite impressed!
So I went back two weeks later and ordered the same steak dinner. This time I was disappointed. Although it was cooked perfectly (to the medium rare spec I ordered), the beef wasn't of high quality. Instead it was tough and full of grizzle. Not a great experience and certainly not acceptable for a $25 entree.
I'll no doubt go back to Jack Astors but I'm going to stick to pub fare. That's obviously what they're good at.

Great meals. Food was all fresh and high quality. Eggs to order, breakfast meats tasty, coffee is good and ample. Not much atmosphere except for the working class people, mostly men before work or lunch break. Everyone seemed very at ease and unpretentious including the staff who were eager to please. My first visit was pleasant enough. We were greeted right away and accomodated for our party of 5. At first I was not really impressed with only the 'make your own stirfry' option for dinner but was told it was excellent. Tons of selection of meats, veggies and sauces...wasn't sure where to start! Guys at the fryer seemed to really enjoy their jobs, it was very entertaining to watch. Food was really yummy. Atmosphere was alright, didn't really notice any defectives like others are posting. Waitress was somewhat reliable in refilling our drinks. When it comes to tipping, the guys at the fryer really earn theirs however not sure about the waitresses as all they did was bring us water....nothing from the menu was ordered. The only downside to this place is the price (15.99 per person Mon-Thurs is the deal we did) but I guess for others it's an awesome price for the food.

My husband and I absolutely love this place. The owner is so kind and the food is so home cooked and comforting. The atmosphere has a little to be desired but the other two components make up for it. We drive quite a distance to go and try to every month.

I really liked this place because the food tasted different than the normal restaurant (kelsey's, jack astors etc.) The mushrooms were SO YUMMY! I got the grilled veggetable burger and it was good but I would get the veggie burger next time. My bf got it and I had a bite and it was super yummy! After learning I would be dining alone tonight, I decided to try a tiny little place I had heard mentioned recently. My waiter was attentive, pleasant and quite knowledgeable about the food he was serving. The overall atmosphere was pleasing and would be the perfect setting for a romantic meal.
The choices offered, combined with the soothing surroundings peaked my curiousity enough that I decide for the second time in the evening to try something new.
I tried the Bison burger with Warm Potato salad. The server described it to me as a Bison burger with caramelized onions, smoked cheddar, truffle scented mushrooms and barbecue sauce.
Jake & Humphreys make all their own bread items that appear on their menu, the combination of the Bison, toppings on a fresh and soft bun, made the whole item a palate pleaser.
A nice glass of South African Cabernet Sauvignon enhanced what was already a sumptious dining experience.
I will be returning to the restaurant again, definitely a great place to dine, relax and enjoy.
Perhaps next time I will take someone with me or perhaps I will again go and enjoy another romantic meal for one!
Hopefully next time I have room for dessert as they looked promising!

My husband and I love to eat at Johnny's during the summer. My favorite is the steak!! Nicely done. And greek salad. It's hard to find a decent greek salad but Johnny's has a wonderful one! My husband loves their pastas. Nice sauces. However we were disappointed during our one trip there during the winter. The food just wasn't quite the same. Different cook maybe?

Personally i found the service to be outstanding, they were constantly serving us and catering to our needs. The food was fast, and delicious i would reccomend the guy ding. Yes the atmosphere is outdated, but they look to be in the process of updating. I would go back in a heart beat! everyone enjoy!
